Reporting to the Deputy Dean of Students, the Assistant Registrar oversees the day-to-day  administration of the Directorate activities based on an understanding of University policies and procedures.

He/she is responsible for providing relevant information to students and other University departments and ensuring policies related to students’ welfare are enforced and proper records are maintained.

The successful applicant shall be responsible for the coordination of the administrative functions together with activities from the various units under the Directorate.

The position entails responsibility in maintaining an up-to-date bursary database and in consultation and guidance from the Associate Dean - Students Government and Leadership, organization and management of students elections, monitor the SATUK budget on a regular basis and bring to the attention of the Deputy Dean of Students any issues for corrective action.

• Be a holder of a Master’s degree in a relevant Social Science field from a reputable university;
• Have 6 years administrative experience 3 of which must be as an Administrative Officer or equivalent;

MEDICAL OFFICER (Grade XII)

The Medical Officer will be reporting to the Chief Medical Officer and will be responsible for: 
  •  All medical duties including clinical assessment of outpatients 
  •  In-patient follow up in hospitals 
  •  Administering general provision of medical and public health services to staff and students and 
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the CMO.
The applicant must be: 
  • A holder of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized University. 
  • Possess a minimum of 3 years’ experience (any 3 years cumulative in at most 2 health units) in major areas of medical practice in a busy set up. 
  • Holder of practicing license from Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board (KMPDB). 
  • Having proven diligence in medical practice; 
  • A team player; 
  • Having a good track record Willing and ready to work during odd hours.

PROTESTANT CHAPLAIN (Grade XII)

He/she shall serve the Protestant campus community through outreach, worship services and events, pastoral care and counseling, community building and facilitation of other programmes including officiating at official events.
While supporting and promoting the presence of a vibrant Protestant community of diverse cultures, ethnicities, gender and socioeconomic backgrounds, the position holder will also provide advice, spiritual leadership, guidance and support to the Protestant student clubs/groups as well as staff as required.
He/she shall provide engaging trainings to student peer mentors and others as may be requested and initiate and maintain outreach and spiritual support for the diverse student and staff at the University.

• Master’s degree in divinity, theology, religion, or a relevant Social Science field from a reputable theological institution;

• Appropriate theological background and/or chaplaincy training, including demonstrated skills in community and leadership development, preaching and worship leadership, religious education and program development, pastoral care, service and social justice leadership, and ecumenical/interfaith engagement;

• Ordained and in good standing with a Protestant denomination, church, association or equivalent;

DEPUTY DEAN OF STUDENTS (Grade XIV)

MUSLIM IMAM (Grade XII)

The Muslim Imam meets relevant spiritual needs of the Muslim students and staff community at The Technical University of Kenya.

Working with the Muslim group to ensure that their daily prayer needs are met while also ensuring the facilitation of the observance/ marking and celebration of Islamic religious holidays and other important Islamic calendar dates and maintaining a vibrant Muslim community presence in the institution.

Reporting to the Deputy Dean of Students and working alongside the Catholic and Protestant chaplaincies, the job requires designing relevant programmes that provide advice, guidance, support and counselling services to individuals from the Muslim Community as needed.
